Our meeting was stymied by the installation of new audio-visual equipment at the Jeanes Library, only partially completed, and completely non-functional, including the loop. We tried to watch one of the videos on a 10-inch laptop screen, but it was not at all satisfactory. We may do this program at a later date.

The meeting turned into a free-form discussion of Auracast and a variety of related topics, such as:

• Auracast appeal to those with normal hearing
• The ability to play Youtube videos at lower speeds (Settings)
• Google LiveTranscribe
• Open captions at area movie theater
• LiveListen on iPhones with HA streaming
• Background sounds from phones (tinnitus maskers)
• HA repair at Salus University

Many members find such unscripted rap sessions very valuable.

July is picnic time.You and your families are invited to the MONTCO (MontCo HLAA chapter) annual picnic on Sunday, July 30, at Fort Washington State Park, from noon to 4:00, rain or shine.  We have secured a covered pavilion that is near a playground.  There is no cost other than bringing a potluck dish to share for lunch.   Bottled water will be supplied.
