Terry Krutz, the owner of http://loopamerica.com/ gave an illustrated review of hearing assistance systems, with special emphasis on induction loops. He demonstrated a chair pad loop and other products available at LoopAmerica. A lively discussion followed.
The December meeting will be our traditional Holiday Party. Watch for details here.
Note: We do not meet in January and February.
Do you know where I can locate the names of Movie Theaters and theaters that have loops installed in the Western Suburbs and Philadelphia. I live in Bryn Mawr.
Thank you
I don’t know of any theatres that have loop systems in the area. Movie theatres are supposed to provide hearing assistance, but compiance is pretty spotty. They typically may provide IR-based systems, which are not subject to spillover, which is problematic for multiplex theatres
You can find movie theater captioning information at:

and a discussion of efforts to advance captioning at:

There are not many venues with loop systems in the Philadelphia area; most are churches.Efforts are just getting underway to change that.
